FishUSA is the exclusive dealer of DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament. Tectan Premium Plus from DAM is Europe#39;s number 1 monofilament. With the same low visibility and small diameter of the original Tectan Premium and even more break strength and knot strength, Tectan Premium Plus sets the standard of performance for monofilament lines. The specially treated line surface gives Premium Plus even more resistance to abrasion and UV deterioration. The slight yellow-green coloration blends in with the natural color of the water and is practically invisible to fish.

Have used this line for years on bass and have found it to be the best at casting, strongest for diameter and most trouble free line I have used and I have tried most lines....I fish three to five days a week all year. I also use the bigger line sizes for the giant catfish here in Kentucky Lake.....no problem.....two biggest.....50lb blue and 85lb yellow....if you find a better line, please, let me know.

I have used Tectan line for several years and bought it from [...]. They no longer carry it, so i went on line and found a dealer. It is the best line I have ever used, bar none.I am 75 years old and fish at least 3 times a week. I trout fish, Crappie, Bass, Bream, Catfish and Striper fish in fresh water and Salt water fish at Oak Island N.C. I caught a 47 # Blue Catfish on 12# test Tectan last Oct, and the picture of it was in the North Carolina Sportsman Magazine.in Jan.2011

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

Used the purchased line in 5.1 pound rated strength which is a very thin line. Caught both a 5 pound and 6 pound rainbow trout on this line while bait fishing, and had absolutely no problems bringing in the hooked trout. I have had breakage problems using Tectan line purchased from another source years ago. The Tectan line in 5.1 rated strength purchased from FishUSA.com. held up beautifully for me.

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

Knot strength was a serious problem w/ the 4 lb line - I used a clinch and a palomar knot (wetted to tighten down) and had numerous breaks at the knot. I even had the guide tie the jig on for me and it still broke at the knot - very dissapointing. PS: I have used this line in the past w/ excellent results, but I'm not/knot sure I will ever try it again now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

I use this for ultra-light spinning on high country streams and lakes. It sloughs off the abrasion from occasional snags and holds it's strength. It's got virtually no memory so it comes off of a small diameter spool very smoothly. I just wish it wasn't so hard to find.

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

This is the best trout or panfish line I have ever used. I was really upset when a large retailer/catalog chain quit carring it. I use it for trout fishing on the White & Norfork rivers in Arkansas and jig fish with 1/16oz or less. The thin line allows the jig to sink fast and small spools to hold a lot of line. Just be careful with knots, I use a dble inproved clinch or Palomar lubercate the knot w/saliva and pull tight slowlly to keep heat down. As long as you tie a good knot this line can't be beat I really love this line.It will allow you to use a higher # test with light line performace.

I have been using this line for years and have introduced it to my fishing buddies who, like me, use it exclusively. You will not find a stronger, better casting and small diameter line anywhere at any price.....if there was one I would be using it. My all around size is the 15.8 lb test for most of my fishing.....I go larger for catfishing and smaller for trout and other super clear waters....try it....you will love it as we do.

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

Used both the 5.1 and 4 pound test on the White River in Arkansas while trout fishing. The diameter is much smaller for the pound test than other 4 pound test lines that I have used. Both lines were easy to work with and I had no twisting while putting the line on my reel. However, the 4 pound test did give me problems at the knot. Lost two lures due to knot failure on average fish. Have not had this problem with other 4 pound test lines in the past. I did not have any problem with the 5.1 pound test. I will continue to fish with these lines for a few more trips but may go back to my original line if I continue to have problems.

Where has this monofilament been all my life???

I was introduced to this monofilament in Germany. It's the #1 mono in Europe ... and for good reason! I've only used fine diameter, supple mono's for trout fishing in clear water, and I've used many of the popular brands, but DAM Tectan Premium Plus sets a whole new standard for monofilament fishing line!!! You won't believe it until you try it!

This is also an excellent mono for Kokanee.

I've purchased Tectan line in the past; but not from FishUSA.com., until this purchase. I've had problems in some Tectan line purchases in the past, but not from FishUSA.com. The problems being that the line easily snapped below rated strength. However, most times the Tectan line has lived up to its test rating, and it great for trout fishing being so thin and limp. The 5.1 pound test Tectan line (two spools) I specifically purchased and rec'd from FishUSA.com were hand tested, as soon as I rec'd the line; and the line held up to alot of pulling and jerking tension. So,I'm looking forward to use the line very soon for Southern California Winter trout fishing. For only the Tectan 5.1 pound test line that I specifically rec'd, I would give it a five star rating; but can't do so, since I haven't actually used the line yet. [...]

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

I like to fly fish as much as time will allow. That has been about 25-30 days a year. I discoverd DAM Tectan about 3 years ago and have been filling my spools of 3x-7x tippet ever since!
I like to fill my spools with a lot so I know I won't run out on the stream. I live on the edge with casting close to danger, so I do break off. Its nice to know I can be back fishing in a few knots.
This mono is small enough to use on my size 8-22 hooks and stronger than most tippet out there.
The cost is much more reasonable because you get so much! I will be fishing with this from now on!

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

I am an avid fisher man. I fish freshwater fish from trout to salmon.First time I used this line salmon fishing I was shocked on how strong the line is for the diameter the line did not let my 28lb. salmon get away. It stands up well to abrasions and very little line memory. The only down side is trying to tie a knot with line. The thin diameter of the line makes it hard to grab with fingers. Over all the line exceeds the best lines I tried so far.

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

I cast for salmon from the beach in Puget Sound. I use light tackle and in the past have always used 12lb maxima green. With Tectan I can use 14lb test and spool a lot more of it since it is much smaller in diameter. It is also far more supple than other lines of similar test. It casts about the same as other lines on my casting reels but noticably better than other lines on my spinning reels.

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

I've been using the Tectan 3.3lb. for years on Missouri trout. The line is very limp and an ease to cast yet strong. Tectan 3.3 lb. gives you more strength with less diameter than other brand's 2 lb. line. There is some difficulty in knot tying tying due to the limpness of the line but the overall performance is worth it.

I have tried most all other brands and prefer Tectan to all of them. Strong, great casting, and best of all, easy handling.....Nearly invisible in the water too....I just respooled two reels from a very popular and highly advertised brand back to Tectan....Had run out and glad I found Tectan again...I'm a happy man!

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

i have used this product 'cause a friend suggested. no complaints what's so ever. it is a strong line and fish has rarely broken off the line. in my limited fishing experience. i tend to follow what experts do and in my case, my friend Don. He also tells me, if you develop any nicks or rough spot on the line, get rid off that part of the line since mono filament will tend to brake off easier at that point.

been fishing for 50 years. (time sometimes flies when you're having fun) this is the best line i've found. i use the 3.1 test (2 too small, 4 too big - for me.) bad reviews may have been the result of very old or baked line. good luck.

Comments about D.A.M. DAM Tectan Premium Plus Monofilament:

After trying three different brands of the new fluorocarbon line this year, and being let down by all the false promises of easy castability, limpness, and limpness I tried Dam. I used the the new fluoro lines for spool filler and spooled all six Diawa spinning reels with the 3 different test lines of Dam..It's good stuff!!! It is sensitive and cast like a rocket. The added plus is the thin diameter lets me use higher test line than before, without any problems. I landed a 10.8 lb bass on a 2"grub 1/32oz. jig while crappie fishing on 20mm line..What more can I say..Kiko
