Many times hooks in the 12 size will tend to straighten on bigger fish. This hook gives the small size for tying sucker spawn, and the strength to handle fish in the 10lb. range.

I use these hooks for tying my glo bug, and estaz egg flies for steelhead. They are strong, and have a nice wide gap to ensure hook up.

I have tried other manufacturers hooks but always returned to Dai-Riki. The #135 scud hook is strong and surgically sharp right out of the box. The perfect hook for any egg pattern.

I use this in place of an egg hook - I like the down eye and offset bend. Just as good as the Tiemco 2457 (I actually prefer these) and twice the hooks for the same price.
