Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
These bobbers are very useful in our coastal waters when they run clear.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
Only wish I would have invented this one myself, wow!
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
Went back and looked at my review of these a couple years ago and it appears I hated these... not the case. It's the only float I use... guiding for 7 years and these are it. I think I should just tell my clients to stop casting on the bank!
Best float there is hands down.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
One of the better bobbers I have used for drift fishing for steelhead in the Northwest. Variety of sizes for all types of river conditions.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
I prefer to use my floats as slip floats and this is the best clear float made for that purpose. These are pretty durable and are very visible during the day and in low-light conditions.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
Works well with a skagit fly line for indicator nymphing. Use backing to create nail knots as float stops.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
I was introduced to the Drennan float by a Northwest Steelhead guide and was very impressed with how they fish and are easy to use. The visibility is excellant and they cast with ease. These are a better product than foam or balsa floats.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
A great float for those spooky fish...
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
This is the best steelhead float on the market. They are expensive, but our catch rates have drastically improved since starting to use this product 2 years ago. We are putting more fish in the box for clients then ever before! They are expensive, but well worth it.

Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
Expensive, yes...but worth every penny.Best float I've used. I fish a lot of pocket water and swift water. These floats can be slowed down like no others I've used. Maximum floatation with minimum water resistance. Lightest floats I've used for the amount of floatation they provide. They have virtually no momentum of their own so when your offering enters slower water, the float immediately slows down and does not drag the offering. Sensitive and visible.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
handles well in water, perfect shape for light hits, high visability for long distance floats
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
primarly river fishing for salmon&steelhead can't wait to use them on silvers this year missed a few bites on float&eggs, float would stop & wiggle but not go under.I'm sure fish were biting however float wasn't sensitive enough

There are 3 cons to this product. 1. Expensive 2. Brittle, you must be careful around rocks and bridge pilons. 3. Many times during the cast, the float becomes twisted in your line and you have to reel back in and start over. HOWEVER, we guide and use this product exclusively. The pros far outweigh the cons of this product.

Casts and slides on line just fine. Was using in choppy waters and it was hard to see the small dome of the float. Even in calm waters the top is hard to see. Float broke when a cast landed on a rock but that is more the fishers fault than anything.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
Very stealthy with a variety of sizes for various conditions
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
an all around good float for steelhead fishing in my neck of the woods. slips under with minimal resistance. the zeppler floats are equally good for steelhead i personally like the #3 floats 20 grams
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
The piker floats are a great float for low clear water. Very sensitive and easy to rig up. The bright orange top can be seen from a great distance.

Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
These Drennans have increased our take-downs. With our old floats we were using, finicky fish would not commit when they felt the surface tension. These Drennans have virtually no surface resistance and fish are hooked before they know what hit 'em. The bright orange tops are very visible even 12"+ underwater. They are the premier steelhead float on the market. One caution, they do break easily.

When you can't get fish to hit your jig switch to one of these floats and you will be surprised, they are clear so fish do not see them, I fish leader lengths as short as 12" and as long as 50" and have out fished everybody, they are worth the extra money
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
I've fished these floats for 4years now and I have never had one break on me. When I troll for steelhead/salmon it doesnt matter what float you use...your presentation is always an issue. I troll with the #5 and have made my own weights out of hollow pencil lead on a wire that has little rings at both ends to tie too. Each weight made for each individual float. The thin weight cuts drag down to at least half.
Anyhow, they are in my mind the best float you can buy when it comes to slips, and I've used them all. Advice to the other reviews "dont cast into rocks" and they wont break. These float go down with the most of ease so they dont tend to spoke light hitting fish. Worth every cent.

Works great on the Salmon in the lower Niagara River near the power dams...Smallmouth bass and Steelhead pull it under and it does not offer hardly any resistance which is a good thing...
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
This Float will not let you down...Performs snoothly and does not let the wind deflect it..Goes down without very little resistance...Perfect for Salmon fishing from the shore in the lower Niagara River in Niagara Falls, New York..
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
These bobbers are the premier steelhead float. Visibility is great. Steelhead bite and the bobber slips easily underwater; there is no surface resistance. We have increased our catch rate because of these floats. The one negative is they are brittle. We get beginner fisherman that cast too far and hit the rocks on shore, and these bobbers will break. But a phenomenal product.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
Excellent float with minimal splashdown that might spook Steelhead. Prefer the 6, 11, & 20gm sizes, depending on the season, river's flow rate, and weight of desired terminal tackle. (Doesn't require Drennan Mixed Float Caps to use properly, just "bobber stops.") Ideal for NW rivers and streams.

Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
After being turned on to these floats by a client even after watching him crack one while on a trip, I ordered 7 of them. I love the way they react in the water, but take some doing to get them to fish right. I jig and float fish... the bobber has a tendency to get ahead of your presentation, ie... dragging your jig and shrimp behind the bobber making the head of your jig instead of the body the first thing the fish sees. Limit your leader length and put some shot on the end to get rid of this... my catch rate skyrocketed after I did this..
CON and a BIG CON. I have cracked 3 of the bobbers on 5 trips. Extremely fragile. I have 4 clients already purchasing these bobbers because of trips, and I hate to see, and have already told them, of what I have gone through with them.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
I use these floats with my noodle rod to float worms at the local lakes to see what will take the worm. That would be mostly sunfish, of course, but I also catch white perch, yellow perch, and largemouth bass. This is a much better float than the Thill Gold Metal floats that I had been using. It can be rigged as a waggler or center slider. At Lake Marburg the there are big sunfish suspended at about 15 feet by the bridge piers and this float works good in a 'slip bobber' setup. It floats great and is easy to see.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
easy to use.Ride high on water. Easy to see even in rough water.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
These floats should prove to be much more durable on the rocky rivers where I fish for steelhead.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
these are great for the rivers. low profile and clear, they don't spook fish. easy to see when a fish strikes.

Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
This float will be in my tackle from now on. It is great for steelhead fishing. I am looking forward to using other sizes and colors and would also like to try the Zeppler. It is easy to see and use.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
These floats track well in fast or slower water.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
When used with the recommended weight, it is extremely sensitive. Because it is soft and pliable, it enters the water quietly on casts and that, combined with its clarity, gets me more hook-ups.
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
These are great floats for the weiry steelhead, they give a good clean drift and it's easy to detect a strike. Running the line in this slip bobber style gives a good hook set everytime!!
Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
Best slip bobber for Steelhead fishing!!

Comments about FishUSA Drennan Piker Crystal Pike Floats:
I use this float while fishing the upper Columbia River for steelhead. The float casts well and is highly visible even from great distances. The float telegraphs the strike instantly and offers little resistance. The plastic construction makes this float very durable. It is without a doubt the best float for my style of fishing
