I ordered this because I can't pull with my bad shoulder. It works easily. No gas smell. When I see others struggling with their gas auger, I know I made the right choice!

This was my first Electric Ice Auger, after using a gas auger for 15 years. I am VERY satisfied with the easy operation, charging process, and ice cutting effectiveness of this auger. Only issues were broken knobs on battery case & a bad battery, 1 week after the warranty expired. Both issues were quickly corrected by Strikemaster, even when I was past the warranty.

Did not drill as many holes on one battrie life as advertised, about 6 holes through 1 foot of ice. Not very durable, it fell one time and the plastic handel broke [$] I have a Juffy I have droped several times in the last 16 years and it still runs like a top. Also when you get to the bottom of the hole it has trouble getting through the last bit. The up side is you don't fill your house with the gas fumes.

I've used this product four times through 8 - 10 inches of ice with no problems. I "jig" a lot, so I drill a lot of holes to find out where they're biting! I have had no issues what-so-ever with the Electra Ice Auger...quite unlike my (bleeping) gas powered drill!
Happy fishing!

Comments about StrikeMaster StrikeMaster Electra Lazer 12000 DP Power Ice AugersOff:
It is easy to use,it charges easy and it cuts holes, either new ones or re-opening old ones it works great.I have'nt run the battery dead yet.It is heavy and not something I want to carry on my shoulder so I pull a sled. The only other thing that I've found is you have to be prepared when yanking the auger back out of a hole as you could rench your back if not ready for the lift

Had mine for three years. I have a six inch I have drilled 60 holes in 12 inches of ice in 0 degree weather. No smell no fumes no spilled gas just push the button and drll. I have broke the battery cover but strikemaster has replacement parts. Would have spent that much on gas.

Just love this auger, it always runs! I have a 3 and a 5 year old kid that go fishing with me and they always want me to bring this auger instead of the gas one because its quiter. We have a six inch one and i wanted to see how many holes it would drill on a charge. in14 inch ice I drilled 64 holes and it was still goin strong. Just quit drilling because the kids wanted to fish instead!

I purchased this auger a year ago and it is on the ice about 50 days a season. It is silent no gas smell, cuts fast. I can cut 20-30 holds in 6 inches of ice and probably 15-18 when the ice is 24 inches thick. It works great and is easier to use than a gas auger, you press the button to start and release to stop. I have plug in for the remote power supply on my ATV which gives me added cutting time and also recharges the auger battery. If you purchase a cheap inverter you can charge the battery on the auger from the vehicles or use the vehicle battery.
it is a great little unit, low maintenance, no smoke and no gas smell or fumes. i give it a thumbs up.
The only draw back is the handle is made of a molded plastic resin and we all know what happens when you drop frozen plastic hard on the ice. The handle will crack so be careful not to drop the handle hard.
