This spring is made for the Legend Series by St. Croix. I guess you could rig it on a different rod but it works best on the Legend. My Legend rod came with the pink(medium) spring. It works perfect with small teardrop jigs for bluegill. To adjust the spring simply slide it in or out, very simple. For a jig with some weight to it I would recommend the heaviest spring. I caught a bluegill that was only two inches long and if I did not have the spring, such light bites would go without notice. I am going to try it on some walleyes this weekend at L. of the Woods.

had to build my own spring receiver and epoxy it to the pole .wish it came with a connection to put it onto the pole with.

I purchased this(orange)indicator to use as a tip I broke off my favoite jigging pole. However after a flawless installation, a 1/16 jig head bent over the spring. My bad. Might try Medium Heavy. Great product, wrong use.

Bought this indicator to put on a light action as the light seems to be a bit to flexible.
