I matched this with the Strikemaster 6 inch auger and a Rigid cordless hsmmer drill. I could not be happier. I can cut at least 15 holes through 20+ inches of ice on a single charge. It cuts faster than the gas augers.

Does a great job. I have a gas auger that I now leave at home. I use a six inch auger and went with an 18 volt. Sharp blades and a back-up battery are a must.
Once I put new blades on auger, it worked to perfection. Fishing in Central Pa. with 14" plus this season. Drilled 10 holes on one battery.

Hey folks out there! Want a good light weight attachment for ice fishing (rather than a ice auger that uses Natual Resources such as OIL, get yourself one of this attachments for your 18V to 24V cordless drills)! Easy to use, I used it on a 18V Dewalt XRP drill "make sure you have a handle attachment to hold it on your drill", and I also used a lazer 6" auger I picked off [...] cheaP! Bring a couple of batteries, I figured 18 holes per battery at 15" holes.. Technology just keeps getting better for us "not-so'old" guys out there!

It would be better if it was longer but it works great the way it is. When the ice is thick you have to bend over pretty far to get all the way through. I would recommend it and would give it as a gift.

I'd seen this used by others, but only with 4" augers. I thought for the price, what do I have to lose. I tried it out last weekend with good results using my 6" Strike Master hand auger. I had to turn my 18v Milwaukee to low gear. It zipped through 12" of ice with new blades on the auger.I didn't get a chance to see how many holes I could drill with one battery, but I would guess about a dozen.

Was skeptical at first,but it works. I just hope it holds up over time. I was going to purchase a gas power auger then I heard about this. This product saved me several hundred dollars. I'm using a good quality drill motor and I'm not drilling through 2 ft of ice but this product so far is doing the job.

I used a 19v drill and could not penetrate the ice with a new 8" blade. If you want this thing to work, you better have soft ice or a [$] drill that will kick like a mule.

I bought this one for a friend, he's lost two augers thru the ice with his adapter with no strap. This is where the retainer strap makes this product really, realy good. I've been using mine for a year now and besides for a little wobble its been good. Still getting (10) five inch holes with one 9.6v battery thru 10+" of ice. I previosuly gave this product so, so review but have warmed up to it.

The part that fits into the drill chuck is not ground enough on all 3 sides and kept slipping in the drill chuck, i gave it to a friend who is a tool and die maker and he ground more prounounced flattter areas on the chuck adapter, works great now.

Works best with a six inch auger. The seven inch lazer was too much for a 19.2 volt drill, but worked effortlessly with a six inch drill and 18 inches of ice. I could not get one hole drilled with the seven inch auger, but the ice was 26 inches deep. Would work OK in ten inches or less.

I used this in Three Lakes WI this weekend 2/23/08. I have a 18v QuatroPro (Black & Decker) heavy duty drill with 2 batteries. It took basically one battery to drill through 15 inches of ice. So I basically drilled 2 holes.
So is that good or bad?
I would say the product does what it claims to, but set some realistic expectations. For me personally this will work great early in the season, I should be able to drill 4 holes that are 8 inches deep. As the season progresses I might have to start the holes manually and the finish them with the drill.
Either way the limitation is the drill, not the product. If you can plug in a drill to a snowmobile or truck then its would
work better.

This product did not meet to my satisfaction due to a small wobble in the adapter. The machining to make flat spots in the rod (to hold it in the drill bit) is not precise, e.g. some of the flats are bigger than others or not cut at exact angles. The rod that goes into the bit is short and would probably work better if it was longer. I have a ½ inch drill and there is room for a longer bit. The adapter is short which makes it good for transporting but a longer adapter would allow for easier / dry drilling through thick ice. I do like the retainer strap that holds the adapter from falling through the ice and will continue to use this adapter for just this reason. I have also used other adapters that were longer but does not come with a device to prevent the auger and adapter to go through the ice. All and all I give the ice master a 3/5 stars.

This device worked great attached to a StrikeMaster Lazer Hand Auger. I happen to have an 18V Heavy Duty Cordless drill and it sliced through the ice with ease. I got about 12 holes on a single charge which was plenty. I had a spare battery pack and my charger and besides, worst case scenario I just use the hand auger!

I'm on crutches...drilling a hole with a conventional auger is a pain...this makes it fast and easy...one battery lasts about a dozen holes on my 14.5 volt system. The retaining strap takes the worry out of loosing your auger too! My buddies all saw me use this and now they want one to.
