I had a pair of these and the chains broke. I also just didn't feel like they gripped the ice that well, but they did work good in the snow, like in hard pack. Im a big fan of the Spiky Ice Ice Cleat. [@] they are really low profile but really grip. I think it just depends on what your using them for. Hard pack or sidewalk/ice/slush stuff.

These cleats cost more than most brands out there but after wearing a few of the less expensive models the Kahtoola's are the best, period. Awesome for fishing on glare ice, but they make you feel as though you could walk right up a mountain.
