I just flat out had it with twisted, kinky line on my micro reel when jigging through the ice. I decided to try this reel. Though not of great quality..it works and you can't beat the price. There is a knob on the side to tighten the reel and acts as a drag although I use my thumb. It works best in shallow conditions and is fun on an ultra light rod such as the HT Enterprises Ice Blue rod. No more spinning jigs and changing line after every other outing.

Substandard ice reel. Schooley brand ice reels are far superior to these. The drag system outperforms the HT by a mile.

I use these reels on my homemade tip downs and also on a couple jigging rods. No line twist means that your jig doesn't spin down in the water while you are trying to coax fish into biting.
