bought a pair of ACr-106A (6BB) to go on some icy blue super flex rods. really happy with the combo. reels are smooth, drag is great, mostly use for panfish perch, gills, crappie through the ice. i give it 4.5 stars only cause i got it towards the end of the season and havent really put it to the abuse yet. great price too.

Recreational fishing for trout and bass most of the time. Use with 6 lbs test and worms or eggs. The spool is heavy plastic and need some sandpaper to smooth out the mold lines for better casting. Great fun for catching smaller fish..

Works like an ice reel should. Used it at 5 degrees, stayed smooth, no internal freeze ups. Really like the longer shank on the reel, gives more room for gloves without interfering with the bail. Will be buying another.

After using the HT ACR-106A for entire hardwater season an logging alot of hours with some pretty big fish. I experienced a minor malfunction with the reel.

And with 1 phone call, YES just a single call believe it !!! I received a new replacement in the mail 5 days later.

I use the reel ice fishing so i have no idea how it casts. Works very well for me so far as i've only used it 3 times.It was very cold so it got put to a pretty good test.

I own a few of the ACR-102's and one ACR-104a

Both reels are nice and have served me well while ice fishing....

The kids like their reels--102's, but I prefer the 104a--just better looking in my opinion

I have not caught anything large with the reel...mostly crappie, gills, bass and trout

For ice fishing and keeping it economical, you can't beat the Accucast series of reels

I use the Accucast ACR 104-a spinning reel for ice fishing. It is the best one in my arsenal of ten. Did I mention it is also the least inexpensive. I have had no trouble with the reel. The drag is the smoothest I have, and that includes better than a couple that cost more than twice as much. I will definetly be buying more before next season. Happy as hell in Brighton,Mi.

Great Panfish rod.

This rod has a VERY sensitive tip, no need for a spring bobber. Was able to pick up blue gills well and in one trip hit a school of white bass and brought up forty. Held up for all it.
TIP: Prevent the line from freezing with silicon and you'll can work with the rod better. With a very sensitive tip make sure your movement is minimal to properly read a lite bite. Lastly, I would put a leader on the line it comes with. Maybe a 2 lb test. (You can still bring the bass in)

The guys at HT designed a reel that does not bounce when retreving your catch,The angeled up feature lines up with the first eye on your rod,alowing the line to evenly load on to the spool eliminating bounce.Think about it!!! bouncing lines - loose fish.

This reel is awesome. With 6bbl and instant anti reverse.....how can you go wrong with the price? It is really smooth and the drag is really good. Better then spending 50-100 dollars on a "name brand" reel.

They are well built reels that do the job that higher price reels do, but half the cost.

This is a great ultra lite reel for ice fishing or vertical fishing out of a boat. Smooth operation and the anti reverse is very good. Light weight and drag system performs flawlessly.
