I had the opportunity to use this the first time I went out with it and it worked great. The only drawback is that I wish it came with something to cover the hooks when not in use. I cut some small styrofoam cubes and put one on each hook, so not a real big deal.

i would recomend this gaff to all ice fishermen/women, especially nice for handling

I got this gaff to help me land fish. Pure and simple and it does the job.
I don't like getting finned, hooked, or tangled in a net, so I gaff my fish and wait till they calm down to remove the hook.
