Im glad Eskimo came out with a good auger that was not over priced like so many of them now.Cuts threw 2' ice and hardly ever sticks.33cc is plenty of power for an 8" auger.Plastics seem a little cheap but it rode in the back of the truck all winter and it still in perfect shape.Starts rite up every time.Coldest temps I used it in was 5-10 degrees so it was not tested in severe cold weather but im sure it would do fine. Great auger and great price. Its about time. Thanks Eskimo.

I am very happy with most features of this auger. It cuts quickly, and no problems starting auger. I like the fact is so light for a gas auger. The plastic seems a bit cheap, but what isn't now a days. Eskimo honors their products and if there are any issues they are addressed promptly. All in all I like it. Good first time auger.

I wouldn't recommend this auger to my worst enemy the constructio is horrible just down right junk the first day i had it on the lake it 45 minutes to start it then the only good thing i can say about it is it cuts a hole very fast i warmed it up and then it would start fine then i let it sit for about 30 minutes and couldnt start the rest of the day the second day i had it out i didnt get it started all day and the pull cord broke the workers at eskimo were no help there solution was sendi it back so i did and then bought a jiffy and hadnt had a problem since the overall construction is just cheep everything is plastic including the entire carburetor i recommend everyone that is looking into this auger should spend a couple extra bucks and save yourself a headache and buy an american made auger

Comments about Eskimo (Ardisam, Inc.) Eskimo Stingray Series 8 Power AugerOff:
Well designed, easy to start and use for what it is. Gas cap vent spits out fuel even on 1/3 tank, seals nicely when closed. Simply not fond of hands smelling like 50:1, don't see it as a fire hazard considering the overall design, just not needed when chasing finicky fish

I bought this model in the bargain cave at cabelas, I was told the motor was rebuilt and the blades were replaced, it was the end of the season so I got a great deal on it, but I would buy this auger over any other one on the market, its lightweight, drills an 8in hole, and will power through 22 inches of ice like a hot knife through butter.
