This is junk! The rod had an unfinished portion uncolored in the middle section. It looks awful when set. I would feel embarrased to go fishing like that. I will have to find a way to paint it myself. The tapered leader was not included in the combo, as advertised. The knot between the backing and th eline was like a grandmother's knot, it would not have lasted one strike.
I feel cheated!

I needed poles for my kids as they are learning the sport. EXCELLENT setup considering cost. The pole is a bit stiff and heavy, and the reel a little to loose for my liking. However considering I was able to get complete setup for 2 kids and 1 wife for under $175.00 FANTASTIC deal. There is much better equipment on the market, but NOT at this price.

This is the perfect setup for any beginner! I purchased one for my nine year old daughter. And i would have no problem using it myself!
