This stuff makes perfect eggs everytime and there's alot less waste than other yarns.

Mcfly foam makes perfectly round Glo Bug Egg flies easy to tie. McFly foam comes in a variety of good colors. I find tying with Mcfly foam is easier than using yarn and catch alot of steelhead.
Comments about McFlyFoam McFly Foam:
I tie a lot of eggs for steelhead and have tried many materials - McFlyFoam is heads and shoulders above the rest. I am no expert at tying flies, but I can make 30+ good flies an hour with this stuff and a straw. I only wish they had a true red - "bright red" is too orange for me. I have to use other stuff to get a good red.

By far the best for tying egg patterns of any type. The yarn is alot tighter than glo bug yarn making perfect eggs a norm not a rare occurence. The colors are covered in almost any direction and I especially like this for tying small size 16 to 20 patterns.
Comments about McFlyFoam McFly Foam:
McFly Foam is the only material I use to tie egg patterns. I have tried some of the other yarns, but this one holds up and keeps its shape the best.
Comments about McFlyFoam McFly Foam:
In the past, I've found it hard to tie good egg patterns. But McFly Foam is by far the best material because it is stretchy - when cut clean, it makes a nice tight ball!
Comments about McFlyFoam McFly Foam:
If you want to tie glo bugs, and don't have days to figure out how to do it with glo bug yarn, use Mcfly foam. Its spongy, which allows you to get your thread wraps close and tight to the hook, which is key to making glo bugs. I still scrap about every 5th glo bug tied with yarn but with Mcfly foam they seem to come out right every time. The down side is that you go through the material much faster than yarn, so it gets spendy quick. Also, glo bug yarn comes in a lot more variety of colors, which is nice. I think Mcfly foam comes in 12 or so colors but I only find one of them useful for steelhead egg paterns.
