These cassettes are a great idea and are for a good reel. They do tend to crack after a number of years so it is worth holding a number of spares.

Own three (3) of the STH MR POP REElS a 1.5,2,and 3 all have landed me some large fish without any problems including a 50 LB salmon on my #3 reel.

The greatest asset of this product is the price!
You can have multiple fly lines that can be changed very fast - without breaking your wallet
for extra spools.

I like the ease in changing the cassettes
I can carry 4 extra cassettes setup with different lines all in my vest.
I fish fron a bass boat, pontoon boat and float tube, alot of the time I will be a mile or two from my car so it's nice to be able to carry all I need in my vest for any fish that might show up

For fly fishing, you have carry a few different types of line. Sinktip, floating & etc. The cassettes fill the bill with a lot less fuss.
The only drawback ? is that you have to have a reel designed for this system.
