The Daves Hopper is a good grasshopper imitation, tied with a spun deer hair head and knotted legs. These flies are tied on Mustad or Dai-Riki hooks and are hackled with Hoffman Whitting Farms hackle.

Deer hair head obscured hook eye making it difficult to tie and floated poorly. Panfish loved it though rising a foot or more on a cold morning to strike.
