I now own three of them for trolling in a canoe. Helps keeps hands free, and canoe uncluttered when paddling or landing fish. Easy to use. No brainer.

Comments about Down-East Sportcraft, Inc. Down-East Rod Holders:
I needed a solid, wide opening holder to use with my fishing boat and this is exactly what would fit there. Greatly appreciated the simple and efficient design, very good looking.

Comments about Down-East Sportcraft, Inc. Down-East Rod Holders:
I've used Down-East rod holders for over 20 years for Salmon to perch. The version Fish-USA has is excellent for those square rails used on pontoons. Just check the clamp on occasion especially after you've made a run to another spot as the vibrations from the boat may loosen the screw clamp. The rod holder won't slip with a hit no matter how large the fish or how heavy the strike.

Comments about Down-East Sportcraft, Inc. Down-East Rod Holders:
This holder is the easiest to use when a fish strikes. One motion does it. You do not have to pull forward and up to set the hook, just remove the rod and set in hook in one easy movement.
Down-East Rod Holders tout themselves as "The Last Rod Holder You Will Own" and it's true.
