Comments about Berkley Berkley Quick Set Rod Holder:

I received my two units yesterday [...] I am super pleased with the design of these holders. They are extremely robust, and even include a back plate for mounting. I bought these for my kayak, and I can't wait to get out on the water and test them. Excellent quality and the price is perfect.

Comments about Berkley Berkley Quick Set Rod Holder:

I use these on my kayaks. They are well made and easy to use and very adjustable. The quick release feature is best used for stationary fishing, not trolling as the rod will pop out during trolling. However if you tie some string or a plastic tie around the top portion of the holder it keeps the rod from jumping out when trolling and works really well.

Comments about Berkley Berkley Quick Set Rod Holder:

I purchased two of the Berkley Quick Set Rod Holders for my kayak. They mounted easily and are very adjustable. The quick release is nice. The only issue I have is when used when trolling with the rod to the side, when you get a fish on, the rod can ride up out of the holder since it has a very open design. However, if you adjust the forward and upward angle this solves the problem. Definitely worth the price.

Comments about Berkley Berkley Quick Set Rod Holder:

I use these for drift fishing for gills. They allow you to make a quick rod set and get them back in the holders. Most importantly they do not take alot of space up in the boat.

NOT a secure rod holder!
By snospdrVerified Reviewer from San Luis Obispo, CA on 1/3/2008
Cons:
Difficult To Use
Describe Yourself:
Competitive
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Berkley Berkley Quick Set Rod Holder:

I put 4 of these on my pontoon boat, and have lost 3 rods due to their unreliability. If you bump the rod in the holder, or don't place it just right in the holder, your rod can just drop over the side of the boat. I am now shopping for more reliable options.
