I purchased this reel after using one to fish for Spot Tails in the flats of the South Carolina coast. The drag system is excellant and the retreive is as smooth as butter. Additionally, the reel does a great job to minimize line twist. I would recommend this reel to anyone who is looking for a great spinning reel at a reasonable price.

This reel is as good as it gets for a great price. The Dawia exceler is the best all around flawless reel i have ever used. Even for winter steelhead, this reel still performs at its best, in all kinds of cold and nasty weather. Definatley a great choice!

From retailers comments on this reel I was expecting something great but sadly it just wasn't the case. I bought two and went crappie fishing after the 1st week problems with the bail failing to trip into position began. I would expect this kind of preformance from a cheaper reel. I purchased a Mitchell advocateII at [...] that preformed far better for much less money.The reel has a nice feel but that is all I can give it.
