Flat and grooved sides make it multi-use. Pocket clip for safe/easy transport and easily accessible. Diamond grit gives great hook points. Next to weightless. A must have item for me. Bought two: one to keep in the boat and another for stream/bank fishing.

Three swipies up each side of the hook and three up the front and your as sharp as its gonna get. I sharpen all my hooks prior to putting them on the line, especially the new ones. The best way I found to check a hooks sharpness is to stick it in your thumb nail, try this with a new hook then use the easy lap as directed and try it again.

I keep the sharpener in my pocket at all times so even I, cannot lose it. It works great. I never put on a new lure without touching it up. A couple of touches is all it takes to make the hooks sharp enough to grab a finger nail.
