Serious anglers everywhere have quickly discovered St. Croix Legend Ultra fly rods look and perform as well as rods running around twice the price. These rods now incorporate St. Croix's revolutionary Integrated Poly Curve technology. A dramatic improvement over the compound tapering method used by other high end rod manufacturers, IPC rods are built on one continuous curve which eliminates weak spots and increases rod strength. The result is mind-staggering cannon-like casting power coupled with a remarkable degree of feel. With top-shelf components and slim-profile ferrules, it's no wonder that they are St. Croix's most popular fly rods.

These rods utilize Advanced Reinforcing Technology (ART). A St. Croix exclusive process, ART adds strength to these rods in critical locations without adding weight or increasing the rod's diameter. By adding a very thin layer of special graphite fibers wrapped around the blank at right angles to the regular longitudinal fibers, ART significantly increases the hoop strength of the blank. The result is a stronger blank that will even resist crushing from accidents or similar extreme loads that the rod was never designed to withstand.

These rods include the following features:

High-modulus / high-strain SC^IV graphite
Slim profile ferrules
Fuji Alconite stripper guides with chrome frames
REC nickel silver reel seat with a stabilized bird's eye maple insert on freshwater models
REC hard-anodized, aluminum reel seat on heavier line models
Super-grade cork handle
Includes a rugged rod case with a handle strap and a divided polypropylene liner
