G. Loomis created this entry-level fly rod outfit to remove the fear, anxiety and confusion that too-often accompanies the first time fly rod purchase. In short, G. Loomis wanted to make it simple, really simple. What they came up with is this terrific beginner outfit that is ready to hit the water. This kit comes complete with a great single-action fly reel loaded with backing, the correct weight fly line and a tapered leader. The package includes an impact resistant, transparent rod case and a soft wrap-around reel cover. Add a bug and you’re ready to hit the water!

The kit is described next, and additional specifications are provided in the table below.

The Free Drift Kit is designed to fish mid-size to larger streams for trout. The rod is an attractive mahogany red. The single-action reel is ready to fish with sixty yards of backing, a weight forward fly line and a tapered leader. This outfit will be equally effective on big freestone streams where big attractor patterns work on hungry fish and those crowded blue-ribbon streams that get lots of pressure. This kit is G.
