This is a great spincast combination for the beginning angler. It is a complete package at a very reasonable price.
This combination features a Zebco 5' 6" two-piece medium action rod. The rod has a soft eva foam grip and 5 guides. The reel is the Zebco 404 spincast reel. This popular reel has a silent reverse, tough ABS housing, an adjustable star drag and a 2.7:1 gear ratio. The reel comes pre-spooled with 15 pound momofilament line and is ready to fish. This combo is great for panfish, bass, catfish and walleye.
This special combination also includes a tackle assortment of spinners, jigs, soft baits, hooks, weights, swivels and bobbers! This combination is ready to fish and makes a great gift.

The reel in my mind is pretty good, dependable. It may be just a little overkill in certain cercumstances. I use it for my all around fishing, river & lake catfish, trout, and most of my fishing types and styles. I mostly prefer a 6 or 6 1/2 foot rod, but this works good for me also. It seems to handle all my uses, or abuses, pretty well.
