 >  > Wille - Big Jon Side-Liner In-Line Planer Board
Description

The Wille Big Jon Side-Liner In-Line Planer Board is considered by many as the best in-line planer board on the market. This in-line board attaches directly to your line, and will track away from the boat to distances between 10 and 50 yards depending on your preference. The Side-Liner can also be used on either side of the boat and performs equally well in calm or rough water conditions.

The body of the Side-Liner is made in a fluorescent orange color, and contains built-in rattles which attract fish to the area of planer. It is 9" long and 3" tall.

This is Model 2100, which has the better "Offshore" release.

I prefer the this planer board over the others because: 1. ) Its quickly reversible and will run off either side of the boat. 2. ) It has the rattle in it, so when you can watch both sides of the boat at the same time, the rattle will alert you to a strike immediately. 3.) It's simple and uncomplicated to use. The only con is the back clip is sometimes difficult to remove - however you never lose the board so you don't have to worry about having to turn around to fetch a board. For lake fishing for walleye this is without a doubt the best board on the market.
Pros: Versitle
Cons: none
Best Uses: Walleye

This board is the easiest on the market to change running from the right-side to left-side. While Church's boards have a better line release and a quicker line-keeper (back of board attachment, Willie remains my favorite.
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Maintain, Functional
Cons: Church has better release
Best Uses: Musky, Bass, Walleye, Fresh Water, Pike
I would buy again.

I use the planer boards for striped bass fishing in fresh water. In the spring when fish are shallow you work the banks in one direction and then reverse direction by flipping the boards instead of using left & right hand boards.
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Maintain, Functional, Reversible, Durable
Cons: none
Best Uses: Trolling, Fresh Water
