U-Charters Slide Divers

Description

U-Charters Slide Divers

The U-Charters Slide Diver is a new take on the standard diver design. These fully adjustable trolling sinkers rig with the main line running through the body of the disc and when a fish strikes, runs freely along the line with little to no resistance. Leader length is no longer restricted as the line can be locked in at any point allowing the angler to stretch the offering well behind the diver, which instantly releases at the lightest bite from a fish. As soon as the rod moves, remove it from the rod holder and reel in.

We carry the U-Charters Slide Divers in the following sizes:

The Small #00 (SD00); 3 1/4" - Great for all species of freshwater gamefish, including Walleye, Lakers, Steelhead and Salmon in shallow to mid-range depths.

The Standard #1 (SD1); 3 3/4" - Great for all larger species of freshwater gamefish, including Walleye, Lakers, Steelhead and Salmon in mid to deep depths.

The Lite Bite #1 (SD1-LB); 3 3/4" - Like the Standard model, the Lite Bite has a mechanism that allows it to be clamped down anywhere on the fishing line. What sets the Lite Bite apart is an extra arm that instantly opens the release mechanism when a fish of any size hits. Properly adjusted, the Lite-Bite can handle everything from the smallest spoons and Walleye spinners to the largest flashers and cut bait set-ups. Lite-Bite model works well in areas were small fish are commom catches during trips out for larger species. With the Lite Bite the days of towing Perch, small Walleye and Trout are over.

The U-Charters Slide Divers are available in the colors shown in the table below.

The SlideDiver functioned ok. If you feel a longer lead from diver to lure, harness, etc is necessary this works as it should. Too many little pieces (surgical tubing, plastic tubing, little spring) make set up a little awkward though. It seemed it was hard to find a sweet spot for the release. When trolling it functioned properly. I wasn't comfortable with the slide diver depth chart. It appeared to follow the DD chart . IMO it doesn't warrant the hefty price. As far recommending the product I give it a "yes" only to try it to see if you like it. I won't load up my tackle box with them.
Pros: Works like a dipsy, Well constructed, Good concept, Adds another demension
Cons: Price, Release adjustment touchy, Couldn't rely on dept chart
Best Uses: Trolling fresh or salt

They work as described. I use the litebites to troll for walleyes. Gives you the ability to let out as much of a leader length as you would like, while still having the ability to net fish when it slides down. They get down very quickly.
Pros: Catches fish, Durable, Easy To Use, Functional
Cons: expensive to lose, tough to thread line through, 5 stars though
Best Uses: trolling deep

Especially good in the Spring when fish are spooky and are in shallow. Great for BT. Can be a pain to store since the diver stays on the rod and bangs around and slides all over the place. I use rubber bands or wire ties to secure it to the rod.
Pros: stealthy, makes it easier to net fish, Catches fish
Cons: takes longer to set up, will snap if it hits bottom, a little pricey
Best Uses: none

The Slide Diver Lite Bite is the best planer device I have used to date. I use to be Dipsy guy but as soon as I gave these a try I haven't turned back. The added Lite Bite arm triggers the diver to release if a small perch or bass hits it so i dont drag them around for awhile not knowing there on. Fantastic Product and great customer service.
Pros: Functional, Durable, Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use
Cons: None
Best Uses: Fresh Water, Erie Trolling, Salt Water

THESE HAVE BEEN A GREAT TOOL FOR ME TO CATCH SALMON ON LAKE MICHIGAN. IF YOU RUN BRAIDED LINE YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS SO THE DIVER WON'T SLIP ON THE LINE. I AM ABLE TO RUN MY BAITS BACK AS FAR FROM THE DIVER AS I WANT TO KEEP FROM SPOOKING FISH. THEY ALWAYS HELP PRODUCE THE LARGEST FISH EVERY TRIP OUT.
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Maintain
Cons: none
Best Uses: Fresh Water

I've always run dipsy divers on my boat when fishing for salmon and steelhead but I was not familiar with the Slide Diver product until I fished on a friend's boat. I quickly noticed the advantages with setup over a normal dipsy diver upon setting the the first line of the day. With the Slide Diver you can control the leader lengths; unlike traditional diver that are limited to a shorter fixed length. Having the ability to run 20, 30, 50 feet leaders provides a great advantage over traditional divers because it reduces the chance of the diver spooking the fish. I've added two Slide Divers to my tackle box and run them now in conjunction with my dipsy divers.
Pros: Easy To Use, Functional, Catches fish
Cons: none
Best Uses: Steelhead, Fresh Water, Walleye, Salmon

These were reccommended to me by fellow fishermen and they rave about them. So far I have tried the SDLB once and it trolled perfectly. I did not catch anything on this one time outing but I am looking forward to some successful fishing yet this season. Great product and pretty easy to use once you understand how it is supposed to function. There are helpful videos on youtube for getting set up. Good luck!!

Like Dipsy divers they will take your lures down & out away from the boat, but they far exceed Dipsys in that you have the ability to move your lure far beyond the diver. That is, you may set your lures many feet or yards past where your diver is located in the water much the same as your ability when using downriggers. On strikes the slider releases everytime and does not interfer with the fight. When you want to pull your line the Slide divers release very easily everytime...no more broke rod tips. They are worth every cent..try them. Dave
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: A little confusing at 1st
Best Uses: Trolling fresh or salt

I fish for striper and they are wary of dipsy divers. These allow the bait to be set back as much as necessary.I have a small boat with 1 basic clamp on downrigger. These are alot easier (for me) to use than downriggers.I can put the bait right where I want it to be and catch fish.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Maintain, Functional, Easy To Use
Cons: Price

I have used this product for many years on the Great Lakes fishing Salmon & Lake trout with excellent results. I feel it puts more fish in our boat, because it takes the bait away from the boat, the bait runs a certain distance back behind the Slide diver, then releases to bring the fish to boat with ease. In the much clearer water in the Lakes now days Slide Divers are the ticket.
Pros: Easy To Use, Durable
Cons: none
