The rod is very nicely finished, with much better cork than expected at such a low price.  As with all of my TFO rods, I appreciate the oversized guides; these are fishing rods, not competition casting rods

Though the rod cast lively out to perhaps 50 feet, at least for me, the progression of loading into the blank hits a wall around halfway down and the rod becomes unresponsive to all of my efforts to get it to load and keep loops formed. It is like a nice trout rod and super stiff bass rod stuck together in the middle. It would be just fine for stream fishing, where casts would never exceed 50 feet, but problematic for my float tube fishing. I actually prefer the action of my Signature Series rod, as it bends deeper into the blank. Also, though the handle is supposed to be fitted to a larger hand, it just has the standard swell made thicker, as oppose to making the grip longer, which is what really matters. The swell is too far forward for large hands, putting the thumb onto the blank. For regular sized mitts, it should be fine.

Pros: Nicely finished, Nice hardware and guides

Cons: Uneven power progression through the blank

Best Uses: Stream fishing
