 >  > StrikeMaster Electra Lazer Power Ice Augers
Description

StrikeMaster Electra Lazer Power Ice Augers use either the built-in battery pack or any other 12-volt power source to turn the blades at a powerful 90 RPM. The Lazer Power Point guides the blades perfectly and increases cutting speed by as much as 20%. Razor-sharp, chrome-alloy, stainless steel twin serrated blades dig deep with every turn for superior speed.

Electra Lazer Augers can easily be operated using a Snowmobile/ATV, Garden Tractor or Car battery or any other portable 12 volt power source. The 12 volt powerhead has been engineered to provide 90 RPM of cutting power, while only drawing up to 20 Amps from the power source.

The custom built 12 volt powerhead with the VANDAR handle system is mounted on a lightweight gear case featuring heat treated gears, that produce a 40:1 gear ratio. The VANDAR Handle System is extremely lightweight and constructed of polymer nylon resin. The Twin serrated stainless steel Lazer blades will cut an ice fishing hole with ease and speed.

No more smelly gas on your hands. After charging the battery as the owners manual states I have taken my 6" StrikeMaster electric out twice. This auger cut through ice just as good as the StrikeMaster lazer hand augers. First time drilled 8 holes in 24" of ice and still showed full power on gauge. Went home recharged for next weekend and drilled 10 holes in 26", still had power left. I chose the 6" size to extend the life of the battery. The 7 and 8 inch models probable won't get as good of results. The bigger the hole size, the more power required, the fewer holes you will be able to drill. I'll still keep my hand auger or gas auger but only bring it to the lake on the days I know I'm going to drill 30 plus holes.
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Maintain, No more smelly gas.

This was my first Electric Ice Auger, after using a gas auger for 15 years. I am VERY satisfied with the easy operation, charging process, and ice cutting effectiveness of this auger. Only issues were broken knobs on battery case & a bad battery, 1 week after the warranty expired. Both issues were quickly corrected by Strikemaster, even when I was past the warranty.
Pros: Easy To Use, Durable, Functional, Easy To Maintain
Cons: none

Buy a Juffy!

About Me:

Did not drill as many holes on one battrie life as advertised, about 6 holes through 1 foot of ice. Not very durable, it fell one time and the plastic handel broke [$] I have a Juffy I have droped several times in the last 16 years and it still runs like a top. Also when you get to the bottom of the hole it has trouble getting through the last bit. The up side is you don't fill your house with the gas fumes.
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: Poor Construction

I've used this product four times through 8 - 10 inches of ice with no problems. I "jig" a lot, so I drill a lot of holes to find out where they're biting! I have had no issues what-so-ever with the Electra Ice Auger...quite unlike my (bleeping) gas powered drill! Happy fishing!
Pros: Great Design, Easy To Use
Cons: Heavy

It is easy to use,it charges easy and it cuts holes, either new ones or re-opening old ones it works great.I have'nt run the battery dead yet.It is heavy and not something I want to carry on my shoulder so I pull a sled. The only other thing that I've found is you have to be prepared when yanking the auger back out of a hole as you could rench your back if not ready for the lift
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: Heavy
Best Uses: Ice Fishing
I would buy this product again and again

Just love this auger, it always runs! I have a 3 and a 5 year old kid that go fishing with me and they always want me to bring this auger instead of the gas one because its quiter. We have a six inch one and i wanted to see how many holes it would drill on a charge. in14 inch ice I drilled 64 holes and it was still goin strong. Just quit drilling because the kids wanted to fish instead!

I purchased this auger a year ago and it is on the ice about 50 days a season. It is silent no gas smell, cuts fast. I can cut 20-30 holds in 6 inches of ice and probably 15-18 when the ice is 24 inches thick. It works great and is easier to use than a gas auger, you press the button to start and release to stop. I have plug in for the remote power supply on my ATV which gives me added cutting time and also recharges the auger battery. If you purchase a cheap inverter you can charge the battery on the auger from the vehicles or use the vehicle battery. it is a great little unit, low maintenance, no smoke and no gas smell or fumes. i give it a thumbs up. The only draw back is the handle is made of a molded plastic resin and we all know what happens when you drop frozen plastic hard on the ice. The handle will crack so be careful not to drop the handle hard.
Pros: Lightweight, Durable, Easy To Use, Great Design
Cons: none
