Description

The Shimano Sienna RD Rear Drag Spinning Reels incorporate Shimano's Propulsion Line Management System for longer casts and reduced backlashes. Sienna reels also feature the Super Stopper II instant anti-reverse for solid hooksets with no backplay in the handle. I have several rear drag Shimano spinning reels, really like the way they perform. Needed another for a new rod, but didn't want to spend a lot. This model is perfect for my light line use.
Pros: Price, rear drag, reliable
Cons: Wish it had the Quick Fire setup.

I have used Shimano reels for many years. This is the first new reel I have purchased in quite a while. I'm very impressed. I would have liked the Quick Fire casting feature, but still a great reel.
Pros: Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling
Cons: Wish it had the Quick Fire setup.

You get Shimano's Technology, a reliable reel at a great price and a rear drag. Merely lifting the rod with a fish on places the drag knob at eye level. Much easier to control rear drag , than trying to reach up and around the line to adjust a front drag. I purchased the reel for ultra-light use -2-3# line- from a preset drag on light line - it is often necessary to LOOSEN the drag...easier with rear drag.
Pros: Rear Drag

This reel is a good value, entry level Shimano reel that performs very well.  I like the rear drag adjustment when I have a fish on and want to change the drag.  It is a great entry level reel for someone looking for an inexpensive spinning reel that will still give you that smooth Shimano feel.

I am actually using this mostly for ice fishing, though it will also be used some on soft water. Love the rear drag adjustment as opposed to front drag. Really wish it had Shimano's Fightin' Drag. Love that on the Spirex and older Shimanos

I do a lot of striper fishing ususally taking my kids and their friends the rear drag is a huge plus for the kids who have no experience fighting fish. I can adjust the drag without interfering with the catching. Great reel. I own 12.
Pros: Durable, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling
Cons: none
Best Uses: none
