This is a great lake and river pole for slip float fishing.
Drifting mesh bait sacks with chiken liver for channel cats.
Two piece makes it easy to keep behind the truck seat.

One of the most durable rods ever built. Good quality at a modest price. A two piece rod that isw well matched for Pink, Chum, Coho and Chinook Salmon, and most bottom fish. Much heavier and less sensitive than Lamiglas, St. Croix, Loomis or Sage, a disadvantage when casting light lures, especially in the wind or in choppy waves.
This is a good rod to use for plunking baits in the river or the ocean, or for slinging heavy metal like Buzz Bombs and tin squid. The Fuji aluminum oxide guides on this older style Big Water Rod are better than the stainless steel ring guides found on the newer "Lite" model rods of the same size because aluminum oxide produces less friction, which translates to better casting range.
Shakespeare customer service has really tanked since they started manufacturing in China. You can't get rod blanks anymore, and repair parts, e.g. guides, reel seats, winding checks etc. can only be obtained if you are willing to do your own research and footwork to find a match.
