Fished the 7'6" UL model for the first time this week. Fished spinners, spoons and plugs betwween 1/32 and 1/4 oz. Took me a little while to get used to the softer casting stroke. But now it's my favorite trout lake rod and only twenty bucks!

Pros: light action, affordable 7'6", handles very light lures

Cons: maybe just a tiny bit soft

Best Uses: trout & panfish

About Me:

I own a number of rods from this product line, ranging from the shortest to the longest. I use them on crappie, bass and bluegill, catching the occasional musky. I am a kayak fisherman, and do not like to spend much on rods as they are always at some risk. But with these rods, you get first-class performance at a price point that allows you to fish them hard and regularly without worrying if one of them gets yanked from the tether by a large fish. Sensitivity is wonderful.Form, function, stress-free.

Pros: best performance for the price

Cons: no snob appeal or St. Croix logo, etc.

About Me:

I really like the rod for crappie. It is very sensitive and you can see and feel the lightest bite, but it also has plenty of backbone when that big bass jumps on your lure. The long cork handle sets well in a rod holder but also feels great in your hands. This rod is really well balanced with an ultra light spinning reel. It is inexpensive but I can't see spending a lot more money for very similar performance. Great buy

Pros: Great performance, Price

Cons: None
