Description

The Ross Flow is a modern rendition of the center pin reel. The sport of center pin fishing is loaded with incredible history and tradition, but rather than simply reproducing a reel design that so many have done before them, Ross has incorporated their thirty plus years of fly reel engineering into what will become the new standard for all center pin reels.

This reel is SMOOTH! Precision machining, high quality bearings and a perfect balance result in a spool that spins effortlessly and without interruption. Whether you are looking for the perfect drag free drift, or the ability to quickly reel in line, the ultra smooth rotation of the spool will make it effortless.

And Ross didn't stop there! They have also incorporated a revolutionary center pin quick release locking spool, smooth moving on/off cam lever switch to engage and fully disengage the drag clicker and a unique symmetrical spool design that eliminates the need for re-spooling line when converting the reel from left-hand to right-hand retrieve. Add in the water shedding grooves on the spool edge and you have a complete center pin reel the likes of which have never been seen before, ready to fight big, fast running fish.

The Flow has a spool diameter 4.5" and a width of .8". These reels weigh 8.6 oz. Line capacities are 300 yards of 8 pound test monofilament with 100 yards of 20 pound test backing or 300 yards of 12 pound test monofilament with 50 yards of 20 pound test backing.

Custom engraving is available on all Ross USA reels. If you would like to have your reel engraved, please call us at 800-922-1219 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST to place your order. An engraving fee of $30.00 will be charged in addition to the cost of the reel.

The Flow center pin reel comes with the following standard features:

  • Fully machined and anodized 6061-T6 aluminum alloy construction
  • Smooth, precision ball bearing rotation

  • Smooth moving on/off cam lever drag clicker switch

I've owned this reel for 2 years. It gets mucked up super easily and sucks up dirt like no other center pin that own. I've broke the clicker twice, luckily Ross reels have a lifetime warranty. The only good thing about this reel is the wide arbor, which prevents line from being blown off the reel on a windy day, and it's seems to cast a little further than my other reels. Over all I would rate this reel as poor.
Pros: Easy Casting
Cons: Poor Construction
Best Uses: River Fishing

good reel for the money, the quick release spool option is nice. the reel is smooth and has good start up. didn't like the clicker button, seems flimsy and could be a problem down the road. Can tell that the reel was designed by a Fly reel company.
Pros: Good Value, Smooth, High Quality
Cons: Week clicker button
Best Uses: Mid to small rivers
possibly the best center oin on the mark

I fish steelhead in the Great Lakes region, and have been float fishing with a pin for 2 years. For a lower priced center pin reel, the Flow turned out to be incredibly balanced and smooth casting. I like the quick release spool, and although I was initially concerned about the heavy porting, dirt has not been a problem so far. I am pleasantly surprised!
Pros: Reliable, Smooth Reeling, Durable, Easy Casting
Cons: none
