Rapala X-Rap XR Series Lures
|
|
The Rapala X-Rap is the dream lure of the 21st century. It is where technical innovation meets Rapala fishing smarts to create a lure like nothing that has hit the water before.
Its premium finish includes prominent scales and lateral line on the fuselage to capture and flash light like a beacon. This Rapala slashbait cuts, darts and slashes its way through the water. Intended for multiple species, with an internal long-cast system built in, fishing the X-Rap will get any angler's adrenaline pumping.
These are suspending baits, whose natural buoyancy suspends the lure during pauses in the retrieve. Additional features of these baits include the following:
- Flash foil teaser tail simulates the flash and movement of live forage
- Premium Pyramid Point hooks
- Internal long-cast weight system with large tungsten rattle mechanism
- Stainless steel through-wire construction for superior structural support
- 3X split rings are super strong and rust resistant
- 3D holographic eyes
- Internal holographic foil for optimum flash
- Textured translucent body for life-like presentation
- Slashbait action has hard-cutting, aggressive, darting action
These are the fresh-water version of this lure. We carry three sizes of the X-Rap Lure: XR06, XR08 and the XR10. Listed below are the specifications of each size.

I've used Rapala countdowns for fall walleye fishing for the past 20 years. Last year my friend outfished me terribly using an X-Rap. I bought some last year and again this year and now I'm the man.

Fantastic Pecock Bass Lure

I run a fishing guide service on Lake Gatun in the Republic of Panama. The first of these I bought was in the clown color pattern, I thought well it is worth a try. I was absolutely amazed the Peacock Bass were literally chasing them to the boat. I then loss the four I had bought due to fish taking them home with them. So I searched and could only find the Fire Head pattern and thought well maybe they would hit it too. Sure enough they seem to like it just as well. While these lures are in the middle of the price spectrum the work better and catch more fish than lures twice their price. Since my initial purchase, I have bought more than 20 of these lures and most recently 13 from FishUSA.com By the way, I lost two of these today. One to a Tarpon about 4 feet long and the other to an unknown species. (Yes, there are Tarpon in Lake Gatun.)

Irresistible to Fish

The X-rap is an excellent crankbait. Great action and irresistable to most predators. I've caught numerous baracuda and calico bass on this lure.
Not the longest casting lure but when it's part of a balanced rod, reel and line you can fire it a good distance.
