Quantum QX36 Casting Rod

The Quantum QX36 Casting Rod features a fast action IM7 graphite blank. The high modulus design increases overall sensitivity while at the same time reduces overall weight. The custom split grip reduces the rod weight even further, while the exposed-blank Quantum QX reel seat makes for a truly comfortable rod to fish. The aluminum oxide/stainless steel DynaFlow guide system is great for fishing monofilaments, fluorocarbons and all styles of braided lines.

I bought this rod because I neeeded a two piece casting rod to take with me on road trips. It is lightweight and has a terriffic action. The hand grip, however, is not as comfortable as I would like. The handle tapers too quickly behind the reel seat, so the heel of my hand actually rests directly on the rod blank. I may have to modify this in order for the rod to fit my hand better.

Cons: Handle is uncomfortable
