Penn Battle Spinning Reels are equipped for combat with a full metal body and side plate to keep precise gear alignment and HT-100 drag washers to provide smooth drag under heavy loads. The machined and anodized aluminum spool includes a Super Line spool so no backing is needed because the rubber gasket keeps superline from slipping.

Penn Battle Spinning Reels also feature a 6+1 stainless steel bearing system and a techno-balanced rotor to give smooth retrieves.

This my second Penn Battle reel,except this for my oldest grandson.My Battle was exceptional last summer fishing for stripers,blues and small bluefin.I have always been a Penn fan and find their customer service and parts dept. very accomadating.

reel quite sturdy, but heavy and bulky. Not exactly the folded elements that are noticeable backlash. Recommending the same class would reel ZAUBER DO, is cheaper and better made??.

Love everything about the reel, I also currently have a 6000 model and it is great. even on this 3000 model the main shaft is big and sturdy built tough. only reason why i gave thise one 3 stars is because it is not laying line good. i might try taking out one spacer and will see what happen. it is laying line in a cone shape.

Pros: color looks great , all metal body.

Cons: line lay

Best Uses: everything
