I live in southeast Alaska and do a lot of saltwater fishing. This is my second Okuma Sierra reel. The drag works great. The Finnish on the older Sierra is still very good after 60 some Steelhead fishing trips. Overall a nice reel for the price.

I bought this reel for the undemanding needs of fly fishing for panfish, and it does quite well. I wanted an inexpensive reel for banging around in a boat. And I prefer not to have the "click-click" on retrieve that many inexpensive fly reels have.
My only criticism is that although the drag is smooth, its range of userful adjustment is rather narrow. I like the reel well enough that I've purchased two spare reels for it.

Returning to fly fishing after years of other sports and other types of fishing. This reel seems of high quality for the price. I wanted to change from left hand to right hand operation. Clear directions and the tool provided made this task easy. I haven't been on the water yet, but practice casting shows the reel works smoothly, holds 100 yards of 20# backing plus a five weight line.
