About Me:

I have a lot of rods and I've spent a lot more money on some of them but this one catches the same fish on the same line in the same water.  Anyone on a budget should be buying OKUMA surf rods.  They are well made.  The only reason I did not give 5 fish rating is that they tend to be a bit on the stiff side.  I wish they had a slightly faster tip on them.

Pros: great construction, excellent grip, best price going!

Cons: just a bit stiff

Best Uses: surf fishing in moderate to light surf

I found this rod great off the beach in big swells. I thought it cast great with light and heavy sinkers. I landed a 15kg (appox 30lb) mulloway off  a nsw beach in australia the second time i used it. I have been lucky anough to of caught many fish since.

Pros: great heavy duty beach rod

Cons: not good for targeting small fish

Best Uses: beach fishing in big swells
