The Okuma Coronado Baitfeeder Spinning Reels are a workhorse reel at a great price. The Coronado combines a durable design and Okuma's patented live line bait feeding system to make a perfect heavy freshwater/inshore spinning reel.

The Okuma Coronado Baitfeeder Spinning Reels features a  live bait feeding system disengages the spool to allow the bait to run freely by flipping up the baitfeeder lever. The tension of the free spool can be adjusted with the rear adjustment, which looks and works like a rear drag. The bait feeding system allows a fish to pick up the bait and run without feeling the drag of the reel. When you are ready to set the hook, you flip down the baitfeeder lever to engage the drag, and the conventional front drag takes over.

The Okuma Coronado Baitfeeder Spinning Reels features an smooth action with four stainless steel ball bearings and a one-way clutch bearing. The quick-set anti-reverse system guarantees rock-solid hook sets and eliminates handle play. The forged aluminum handle arm, stainless steel gearing, lightweight graphite frame and multi-disk drag ensure dependability for years to come.

Features of the Okuma Coronado Baitfeeder Spinning Reels include:

I bought this reel in 2011 so I have been using it for 4 seasons of stripped bass surf fishing. I only have had a couple issues with this reel since I bought it but some how it keeps on kicking. The first issue was that after the first season of use the bait runner noise clicker stopped working so now I need to watch the rod closely or add a bell so not to miss a hit. The second problem that I had, came after catching the largest stripper of my life last year (48" 42 lbs slob) which put so much stress on the composite frame, that the top back screw under the spinning head that holds the side plate on pulled free, allowing the reel to flex open on the back side of the body. I would also like to see the spool be made with a rubber in lay so it can be easily spooled with braid. For the price it is a tough reel and I would like to get another one but a little scared I am too rough on fishing gear.

Pros: Easy Casting, A lot of Line Capacity, Smooth Drag System

Cons: Bait running clicker broke, Composite body a weak piont

Best Uses: Ocean Fishing, Shore Casting, River Fishing

A PLEASURE TO USE

Not only is this good looking, but it also reels smoothly. I use it for surf fishing, and shore fishing. In surf fishing this baby takes a beating, a dunking, the sand grits will be all over it but I just use clear ocean water to rinse it in the surf and I'm good to go keep surf fishing. Just remember when you're done for the day to rinse it with a warm tap water. I have the CD50 and am planning on buying the CD30 also.

Pros: Reliable, Smooth Drag System, Easy Casting, Smooth Reeling, Line Doesn't Tangle, Durable

Cons: none

Best Uses: Jigging, Ocean Fishing, Shore Casting

I own 3 at present time. Tow medium size for Yellow Tails (Key Largo Fl) and the big one for bottom fishing (Big Snapper,Grupper). With the big reel I had only one mistke done by myself having the baitfeeder to the loose position when a big one hit, it took me a while to close the bail. Other than that I love everything from the lots of bearings to the metal handle.

Pros: Smooth Drag System, Reliable, Smooth Reeling, Line Doesn't Tangle, Easy Casting

Cons: none

Best Uses: Ocean Fishing
