Okuma Clarion High Speed Levelwind Reels showcase Okuma's patented Mechanical Stabilizing System, or MSS. The MSS system ties the spool shaft, pinion gear, pinion gear bearing, drive shaft and main gear together with a single support. The result is superior alignment and performance over the long term. These reels also feature two stainless steel sealed ball bearings and one one-way anti-reverse roller bearing. The Carbonite drag system is designed to put the brakes on hard charging open water gamefish. This drag system balances the two most important qualities in a reel's drag without sacrificing either - smoothness and high-end drag pressure.
Choose High Performance Clarion reels for salmon, steelhead, stripers, lake trout, walleye and large catfish ... anywhere Clarion’s powerful XL Gearing and multi-disc Carbonite drag system can be turned loose on big fish. These large capacity reels are great for freshwater trolling with copper and wire lines as well as long leadcore lines. The Wide Mouth levelwind is designed to give plenty of clearance to large diameter wire lines. The high speed gear ratios pull in an impressive 41" (model CLR-453LS) and 53" (model CLR-553LS) of line per crank. All models of the Okuma Clarion High Speed Levelwind Reels features right-hand retrieve only.
