Spinning Reels

$15.00 Off All Remaining Okuma Avenger "A" Series Spinning Reels! Regular Price $34.95, Now $19.95! Supplies Are Limited. If one of these items show out of stock in your basket please remove it or it will be removed from your order and the total will be adjusted. Thank you.

The Okuma Avenger "A" Series spinning reels offer a tremendous value in durable, super-smooth six ball-bearing front drag reels. Okuma has done it again by increasing the spool capacities for each size Avenger "A" while decreasing the overall weights, thanks to the totally redesigned spools and and thinner, stronger blade bodies. The patented Elliptical Oscillation System provides a smoothness normally found in reels priced much higher than the Avenger "A" Series.

Standard features of the Avenger "A" Series spinning reels include:
  • QuickSet anti-reverse one-way bearing
  • 6 precision ball bearings
  • RES II Rotor Equalizing System
  • Lightweight ported aluminum spool
  • Helical cut brass pinion gear
  • High quality Japanese oiled felt drag washers
  • Hydro Block water tight drag seal
  • Oversized ceramic line roller
  • Corrosion resistant graphite body construction
  • Reversible right and left hand retrieve
Each model includes a spare graphite spool.

I was introduced to Okuma products while living in Florida a few years ago. Prior to that time I used primarily Pflueger reels. This spinning reel has become my go to for crappie, bass, and all other panfish.

Bang for the buck.  As soon as I got it, I used the 30a to catch my personal best largemouth at a lake in Southern California.  The drag works excellent and the spinning action on the reel is incredibly smooth.  Next, I took the 30a out to Hawaii and caught several Ulua (Papio) on shrimp.  Those fish fight hard and the reel did a great job of handling the fish.

Pros: Affordable;Sturdy;High Quality

Cons: None

Best Uses: Medium Action Spinning

I'm normally a Shimano guy, but if you can't afford it buy a top of the line Okuma. THey don't take the beating a Shimano can, but for the money you can just buy another if it breaks.

Pros: good buy for what you get.

Cons: None

Best Uses: anything , I abuse them by using them in salt water.

I bought 2 of these reels to trout fish with my 2 young sons 10 & 12 and the reels have worked great.  For the price I thought it was a good reel for them to start with but after seeing the reels up close and trying them out  I am considering getting one for me.  Good choice for a start reel or budget.
