Off Shore Tackle Stacker Downrigger Releases

Using stackers allows you to run two lines off of the same downrigger. After the first single line has been attached off the to the cannon ball using a standard single release, lower the cannon ball a distance then attach the snap (to protect from loss of the stacker) and the release which is on the short leader to the downrigger cable to hold the stacker in position. Then set the second fishing line in the release on the long leader.

We stock two styles of these stacker downrigger releases:
  • OR-7 STACKER DOWNRIGGER LINE RELEASE, LIGHT TENSION (WHITE)

The light release, model OR-7, is ideal for shallow water trolling and for light hitting fish. Attach the clip to the downrigger weight and place the line in the pad. The soft pads won't damage or fray line.

  • OR-2 STACKER DOWNRIGGER LINE RELEASE, MEDIUM TENSION (BLACK)

The medium release, model OR-2, provides firm tension to reduce false releases due to line drag when fishing deep water. Adjust tension by how far you place the line in the pads.
These releases come one to a package.

Please select the style from the list above.

About Me:

We like running two fishing lines off one down-rigger. And this allows us to do just that. Very easy to use stacker once you get the hang of it. We fish Lake Superior where you can have two lines in the water per person, this works great for me and my husband when we troll for Salmon.

Pros: Easy To Use

Cons: none

Best Uses: Down side riggers
