Off Shore Tackle Single Downrigger Releases
Off Shore Tackle Single Downrigger Releases are full size releases designed for trolling with downriggers. These releases are available in different tensions for various trolling situations. The line tension can be adjusted further by placing the line deeper into the release pads, thus adding more resistance. Attach the release to the downrigger cannon ball with the snap, and the fishing line from the rod is positioned between the pads.
Each Downrigger Releases package includes one (1) release and attached leader with snap.
Off Shore Tackle Single Downrigger Releases are available in the following tensions:
-
The Light (white) release is ideal for Walleye, spring Coho, or other small to medium size fish using 10-25 pound test monofilament line. It has light tension for light hitting fish. You can also attach it to a railing to help set the hook on high lines for fewer missed strikes. This release includes a 7" stainless steel leader and 2/0 snap.
-
The Medium (black) release is ideal for Salmon, Steelhead, and Trout using 10-25 pound test monofilament line. It has firm tension to reduce false releases due to line drag when fishing deep. The medium tension is best for deep water and/or good size fish. This release includes a 7" stainless steel leader and 2/0 snap.
-
The Heavy (red) release is ideal for Muskie, trophy Pike, and salt water fish using over 20 pound test monofilament line. It has extra firm tension to withstand large lures and high speed trolling common in saltwater and Muskie fishing. This release includes a stronger 18" 210# stainless steel leader and heavy duty 2/0 snap.

Downrigging IS impossible without one of these..
-stong -enough "peg" to keep the fish on, with enough pressure to set the hook-in, before the line is released..RECOMMENDED..

Attaches easily to downrigger ball. Fish are able take line easily from release. Placement in the pads properly will release with ease. Not to tight as some are difficult to release.
