Mini-Foo Jigs - Standard

Mini Foo jigs are very popular for all jigging situations. They are a painted lead-head jig with a feather tail, and come in a variety of colors. These jigs are usually fished under a float, often with a grub or egg, and are very effective on steelhead and other species.

These are the "standard" Mini Foos and they are available in six colors and two weights. The 1/64 ounce jigs are made on a long-shank size 10 hook. The 1/32 ounce jigs are made on a long-shank size 6 hook. The 1/16 ounce jigs are made on a long-shank size 4 hook.

These colors are shown in the table below.

Tin not as nice

About Me:
  • Avid Fisher
These jigs used to have a smaller head made of lead. when they changed them to a larger tin head, they maintained the hook size according to weight, not head size. If you want a smaller head size (now 1/64) you get a smaller hook that won't hold a big trout - they bend. The 1/32 jigs still attract fish, but not as well as they used to.

Pros: None

Cons: None

Best Uses: float fishing
