These floats transformed how I stream fish for trout in Western Pa. Beside being used for Trout Magnets, they are perfect for drifting half a night crawler, red worms, wax worms, or, my favorite, Berkley Power 3" trout worms. They make it easy to get 40-50' drifts thru good water without snagging, either casting up or drifting downstream. The pin, which is easily pulled with your teeth, allows for quick depth adjustment depending on the pool or run you are fishing. However, the pins don't float so if you drop them in the stream, they are gone!
The floats are also perfect strike indicators. With practice, you learn if the float goes down due to a snag or a strike. Usually though, if it goes down right now, goes left or right or even upstream, you'd best set the hook.
Depending on light conditions, the red seems the most visible, the yellow best in low light.
Pros: Easy to attach, Work with trout magnet, Works with different baits, Easy to adjust depth, Great strike indicator
Cons: Pins don't float and easily lost
Best Uses: drifting, strike indicator, Small trout bait and lures
