Effective for lake or stream fishing, these rods are made with one objective in mind... to help serious trout anglers become more successful and enjoy their time on the water with the lightest, most sensitive rods available. The entire series features fast tips for the ultimate in control, whether your pitching a spinner, a marabou jig or drifting single eggs on your favorite creek. Simply put, G. Loomis is confident you'll agree that these are the best trout rods you've ever fished.

Trout Series Spinning Rods feature 1- and 2-piece rods ranging from Ultralight to Light action. These rods feature blended or GLX blanks with moderate-fast to fast actions for smooth casting and quick hooksets. The standard blended graphite models include up-locking Fuji reel seats with handles of alternating bands of cork/composite cork along with single-foot Alconite guides. The GLX graphite models include up-locking Fuji reel seats with handles of alternating bands of cork/high density foam along with single-foot Recoil guides.

I have the TSR 560 and I use it for UL trout fishing. I’ve landed several Rainbows that were 4lbs + even though they were planters they were very strong and with the TSR 560 and it was a blast. I mainly fish with UL lures, jigs, plastics. IMHO the TSR is a true UL spinning rod. It’s not a soft action or whippy rod by any means it has a fast tip and good backbone toward the lower end . Its rated at Mod Fast and it’s a true Mod Fast action rod. Very sensitive yet can cast 1/32 to 1/16 with ease, and it can really toss 1/8 oz when I need to go that heavy. I prefer my TSR560 over my St. Croix Avid AVS46 4’6 and my Avid used to be my go to trout rod.
Pros: Sensitive, Good Tip Action, Beautiful ultra light rod, Excellent casting, Lightweight
Cons: None

Best rod I've ever purchased for small trout using 4 pound line and 1/4 ounce lures. Extremely responsive to light strikes. The handle fitting to my 6 ounce carbon Shamano reel is superlative. Total weight is 10 ounces and have caught a couple of 24" rainbows that make it quite a fair fight. I've lost a few other big fish as well so the contest is fair sporting. I give it a five star review.
Pros: Sensitive, Beautiful ultra light rod
Cons: None Specified
Best Uses: I've only used it for trout, TROUT SPINNING

About Me:

Use it primarily for small streams and creeks with 2# line and light lures and spinners for trout. Size is perfect for navigating and casting in heavy brush cover. Would have liked a more moderate light rather than the moderate/fast configuration.
Pros: Lightweight, Accurate Casting, Durable
Cons: Hard To Transport, Too Stiff
Best Uses: Small Fish

About Me:

I had planned to use the rod for stream and river trout fishing with small lures and jigs, and while it casts small lures well it is a much lighter rod than the description would lead you to believe. This is a small stream rod for small fish using 2 lb. test line. It is not a rod for large trout on light jigs as advertised. If you want a beautiful super light rod for casting super light lures for smaller fish then you will be happy with this rod. It is not a versatile rod for larger streams and larger fish. I like the Loomis IMX rods much better. I am not impressed with this blended rod and I think they missed the mark.
Pros: Beautiful ultra light rod, Sensitive, Good Tip Action, Lightweight
Cons: Ultra light not light, Poor casting accuracy
Best Uses: Small Fish
