G. Loomis Saltwater Pelagic Casting Rods are made for big fish like, tuna, sharks, billfish, yellowtail, and stripers. They don't make real big sticks, choosing to rather focus on rods where lightweight and great fishing-fighting dynamics are critical. It's all about the power with these rods. G. Loomis Saltwater Pelagic Casting Rods have power enough to manhandle big seagoing fish that only have one thing on their mind, getting away. The rods are much lighter than you'd expect giving you a magical or even mystical feeling of control. G. Loomis Saltwater Pelagic Casting Rods come in three models have "slick-butts" for ease in getting them out of the rod holder, critical in a trolling situations, and five that are made for stand-up fishing, but they too will fit in most rod holders.

PSR72-50C TR  - A short, powerful trolling rod for small to medium-sized yellow fin, blue fin or billfish. It will handle the big umbrella rigs and plugs for stripers and will stop a big yellowtail in it's tracks. The foregrip on this rod is slightly longer so you can move your hand forward blank for more leverage. It has an AFTCO aluminum reel seat and a "slick butt" for easy removal from the rod holder. There's a gimbal on the butt-end for use in a fighting chair or belt.

PSR78-20C TR  - A nice, light, fast action trolling rod designed for pulling live bait, plugs or plastics for such popular species as yellowtail, albacore, dorado, white marlin and sailfish. It's a surprisingly powerful rod for such a light rating and is a great choice for trolling plugs or eels for stripers and bluefish. The handle has a foam fore-grip with a "slick-butt" for easy access into as well as out of the rod holder, plus gimbal for chair or fighting belt. It has an AFTCO aluminum reel seat with braced Fuji guides.

PSR78-30C TR  - A great rod for trolling plugs, plastics or live-bait for blue fin or yellow fin tuna, white marlin, sailfish and striped marlin. Will handle small umbrella rigs and medium-sized lures for stripers and blues. When you're on the big bull dolphin, this is a good rod to have on your side. The handle features an AFTCO aluminum reel seat with "slick-butt" for easy in/out of the rod holder and there's a gimbal mount for use in a fighting chair or belt.

PSR78-50C SU - An excellent rod for yellow fin up to the 120-pound range, pargo or deep-water yellowtails on a drop loop rig. Another good option for halibut, ling cod or larger bottom fish, using metal jigs, cut-bait or soft plastics on heavy jig heads. It has foam grips with a lightweight Fuji barrel reel seat and a soft, rounded butt-cap. The foregrip on this rod is slightly longer so you can move your hand up the blank for more leverage.

PSR84-20C SU  - A nice, light utility stand-up rod designed to fish live bait, plugs or plastics for yellowtail, albacore, dorado, or small billfish and sailfish. More of a finesse rod for those that have an infinite appreciate for the fight rather than the bite, although that is usually quite an event for most of us. The rod has foam grips with a lightweight Fuji barrel reel seat and a soft, rounded butt-cap for protecting your belly when you really put the pressure on the fish.

PSR84-30C SU  - A great rod for casting plugs, plastics or live-bait for albacore, blue fin or yellow fin tuna, white marlin, sailfish and striped marlin. Makes a good rod for light-duty bottom fishing for small grouper, snapper or halibut. Freshwater anglers will appreciate this rod for bottom-fishing big sturgeon. It has foam grips with a lightweight Fuji barrel reel seat and a soft, rounded butt-cap to protect your ribs and belly during a prolonged battle.

PSR84-40C SU  - A powerful stand-up rod for yellowtail, albacore, blue fin tuna, yellow fin tuna and wahoo. It's a good choice big striped bass & bluefish. Makes a fantastic blue, black & striped marlin rod for trolling artificials or live-bait. Will cast a live-bait to a tailing marlin with little effort and has a powerful tip for setting the hook. It has foam grips with a lightweight Fuji barrel reel seat and a soft, rounded butt-cap to reduce the pain and bruising.

PSR90-25C SU  - A deceptively powerful 7' 6" stand-up rod designed to fish live bait or plastics for yellowtail, albacore, dorado, or striped marlin and sailfish. It's a nice choice for fly-lining anchovies for albacore. Striped bass anglers will appreciate the nice tip and the casting range for fishing plugs and it's a good option for bluefish as well. It has foam grips with a lightweight Fuji barrel reel seat and a soft, rounded butt-cap to protect your ribs and belly.
