G. Loomis Classic Spinning Rods

$200.00 - $390.00
A dynamic of light-duty and ultra-light freshwater spinning rods. G. Loomis designed the Classic Trout & Panfish Spinning Rods primarily for panfish, but they satisfy a variety of different applications like small in-line spinners for bass; darts and light jigs for shad; spinners for trout; small bait for bonefish; and even spoons for sea trout.

G. Loomis Classic Trout & Panfish Spinning Rods are more of a light-duty all-around spinning rod with relatively soft butt-sections and light tips. None are rated for over 10-pound line and most are in the 4- to 6- pound test range. If you're fishing in tight quaters or really small creeks, G. Loomis suggests the shorter models, but if you frequent larger streams or ponds and lakes, they recommend the longer rods because they protect light line better and give you increased casting distance and a longer, more effective hook set.

About Me:

This is the GL-3, 5' Ultralight. This little sweetheart of a rod is a brookie-catching machine, perfect for backpacking and small stream fishing. The action is ultra-light, with just enough backbone to give you the confidence that you can catch any trout if need be! It's a two-piece rod and breaks down to 30 inches. This little masterpiece is light as a feather! It's very accurate and easy to cast and will allow exact presentations of the smallest spinners. Yes, it's a little pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion. My opinion is also that it's the best ultra-light made!

Pros: Accurate Casting, Sensitive, Good Tip Action, Durable, Easy To Transport, Flexible

Cons: none

Best Uses: Small Fish, River Fishing
