About Me:
on the ice 4-5 times a week
i purchased the 30" MH rod paired up with a size 1000 reel and spooled 20# sufix 832. I fell in love with this combo the first time out on the ice and plan on buying another rod or two. i have used this rod both for jigging size 6 clackin' raps and for rigging live bait in an HT ice rigger and in both situations the rod performed perfectly for handling northern pike around the 30 inch range, a fantastic product from Frabill.

Pros: quick tip, solid backbone, perfect length, balances well, good handle, guides can handle braids

Cons: cant find one

I love the 27 inch quik tip.  It has a sensitive fast tip and yet has the backbone to set the hook with just a snap of the wrist.  I use them for fishing Dakota perch and Green Bay whitefish.  I also have a 33 inch for fishing deep water where a longer sweep hook set is required.
