I think these Fenwick rods are a super good. I use the spinning and casting models for float fishing in Oregon. These rods work well with either mono or braid. The fit, finish and components of these rods are nicely done. Overall a great rod for a great price.

Pros: Fit and finish

Cons: None

Best Uses: Steelhead float fishing in the 10 ft length

Bought this rod after purchasing the 9'6" spinning rod in this series. In comparison to other center pin rods, this is an exceptional value. The rod has a slow enough tip to protect the lightest of leaders and enough backbone to turn their heads and get 'em to the net. The fixed reel seat offers a very stable platform over sliding rings, and the slightly larger cork fore grip is very comfortable to hold all day.

Pros: Value, quality

Cons: NOTHING

Best Uses: center pin fishing

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST AND LONGEST SALMON / STEELHEAD ROD I'D EVER HAD...I LOVE EVERY BIT ABOUT THIS ROD...FIGHTING  MONSTER SALMON IS A NO PROBLEM...LONG ROD LIKE THE ONE I'VE HAVE ( 14 FOOTER ) MAKES IT EASY TO REEL IN THE FISH...(WHERE I FISH IS A FAST CURRENT RIVER)....WHEN YOU HOOK A SALMON IN THE DEEP FAST CURRENT WATER...THE LONG ROD WILL ALLOWED YOU THE BRING THE FISH UP TO THE SURFACE AND DRAG IT TO THE SLOWER WATER......TRY IT OUT FOR YOURSELF...

Pros: none

Cons: none

Best Uses: DRIFTING AND CASTING

Overpriced but good rod

My use for this rod is technique/species specific, throwing crank baits for King Salmon in GL tribs. It has some qualities you'd expect to find in a more expensive rod, but I feel Fenwick and FishUSA need to seriously re-think their price point on this rod. A good rod overall, just not worth the coin they're asking.
