Daves Hopper

The Daves Hopper is a good grasshopper imitation, tied with a spun deer hair head and knotted legs.

These flies are tied on Mustad or Dai-Riki hooks and are hackled with Hoffman (Whitting Farms) hackle.

This fly is available in sizes 8, 10 and 12.

About Me:

Beginner

Deer hair head obscured hook eye making it difficult to tie and floated poorly. Panfish loved it though rising a foot or more on a cold morning to strike.

Pros: Easy To Store , Good For Variety Of Fish , Irresistible to Fish , Looks Realistic , Strong

Cons: Poor floating , Difficult to tie

Best Uses: River fishing
