If you are worried less status and care more about catching fish, then this rod is for you. You won't feel like you have to baby it and you will enjoy your time on the water that much more. It looks great and has a nice action. I received it in record time and believe me, for an all-around Salmon/Steelhead rod, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal.
Pros: Price, Quality, Value, Action
Cons: None
Best Uses: Salmon/Steelhead river fishing

About Me:
Carp angler.

This rod seems like it'll get the job done. I fish primarily for carp. I need a rod that'll give me casting distrance and enough strength to haul in fish over 20lb. I certainly wasn't getting that out of the other rods I tried. The catfish rods out there are too heavy and short. The bass gear can't handle big fish for very long. So, I'm trying a salmon rod. I have my fingers crossed, but I have more faith in Daiwa gear than any other.

Pros: Good backbone, Tip is light enough to detect light bites
Cons: none so far
Best Uses: Large fish
