Cortland Flea Flicker Trolling Line

Cortland's "Flea-Flicker" is a premium grade, anti-flea monofilament with the added benefit of a "high-slip" additive and high abrasion resistance. This mist blue specially designed monofilament has been proven to reduce and in many cases eliminate the problem of water flea attachment to trollers' lines. The special design also improves the "tracking" of the line while trolling and dramatically reduces the "drag" experienced when using 20 and 30 pound standard monofilament.

Flea Flicker line is "The Cure for the Spiny Water Flea!"

We offer Flea Flicker in 20 and 30 pound tests on 300 and 2500 yard spools. The color is clear grey.

To order, please select the pound test from the list above.

Cortland Flea Flicker Line - Great Product

About Me:

I purchased the 20 lb test version of this line to extend my downrigging season on Seneca Lake in NYS. This line meets all requirements to do that. No spiny fleas on the line and they were so numerous at one time that the downrigger cable was covered with them. The line is, of course, a bit bulkier than the usual 10# mono that I use but it is supple enough so that I will leave it on the reels for the whole season. Worked great in the releases as well. Fabulous product at a great price!!

Cortland Flea Flicker - 30lb

About Me:

I bought the #30 Flea Flicker because even #30 Big Game Mono wasn't doing the trick on fleas this year at Lake Ontario. It definitely worked to keep the fleas off. The downside is that it's very rigid and difficult to tie to a mono backing. I tied a bloodknot, cinched it down very tight and checked it thoroughly before putting it out. Still, I had a screamer on that took almost 700' of line out and I fought for 10 minutes before the knot let go. I'd go with in-line swivels if you plan to tie this line to backing.

Pros: Good For Variety Of Fish, Strong

Cons: Limited Use

The line does as advertised so far. Line picks up little or no fleas. It does have an odd elliptical shape (not round) but so far doesn't seem to cause any issues. If you deal with fleas this is the way to go!

Pros: Easy To Handle

Flea-free Fishing

About Me:

Flea Flicker line did a great job keeping the rubbery "fleas" from attaching to our tolling lines this summer in Lake Michigan. By comparison, our regular braid and mono lines clogged with fleas, with golf-ball-sized lumps accumulating at tips of rods. Note: the line is extra slippery and produced false releases until we used stronger (red) clips on the downriggers.

Pros: Easy To Store, Good For Variety Of Fish, Strong, Easy To Handle

Cons: none

Best Uses: Fresh Water, Trolling
